The main hall
The preschool is based in Bolford Street Hall. The main hall is a large, light and welcoming space. Portable partitions allow the room to be divided up into different-sized areas to suit the activities on offer each morning, as well as providing space to display children's work, photographs, posters and other materials of interest to the children.
There is also a small enclosed outdoor area adjacent to the building, to which the children have access on a regular basis. We have some fantastic facilities here, and have been able to purchase some lovely wooden hand-built sand-kitchens and dens. Children love zooming cars and balls down the wall-mounted guttering system. In warmer weather we have an amazing water pump, which pumps water down and around the guttering system.
Our playing field
A local resident has kindly offered us the use of his field as a play area for the children. We also frequently walk to the Windmill. Both areas are accessed via a safe off-road route.
The "secret garden" at Clarance House
Children who attend on a Friday also regularly visit the wonderful "secret garden" at Clarance House, a very special place where the children can play on the grass, explore the paths among the many fruit trees, and even harvest the fruit in the autumn. There is also a small classroom available to us here.
